Fort Wayne, IN

45 minutes from Cleveland and i arrive in Ft Wayne in an airplane the size of a mini van.
Carrying 20 people it is the smallest commercial aircraft i have ever been on. Quite exciting really.

The hotel shuttle hadn't turned up so i took the only taxi outside a completely empty arrival lounge. I had to bang on the window to wake the driver who still had put back his seat and still had a half eaten Arby's lying across his expansive belly.

I'm staying at a Marriott that is the size of a small town and i regretted not bringing my swimsuit as i wandered past the hot tub. I've a nice room with all the trimmings on the concierge level but i didn't care, i was starving and could only think about room service as i hadn't eaten since brunch and it was 10.30pm.

I still haven't eaten since brunch.

As soon as i got in i opened the room service menu, i had 30 minutes before it closed so i acted fast and ordered a grilled chicken pasta, side salad, a glass of wine and a diet coke. She said it would be straight up.
11.30pm and i call down asking her how much longer it would be. Guest services said she'd check and call me back.

She calls back apologetic, all kitchen staff had gone home and she has no idea where my grilled chicken pasta was.

I'm now nibbling on the pillow mints counting down until breakfast.

Milwaukee, WI

For one night only i am in Milwaukee. I arrived pretty late, tired and hungry but i was amused by a billboard i passed on the expressway.

" If you are going to swear
use your own name"
- God

It was almost as amusing as the mullet the bartender was sporting...i wasn't too tired i couldn't throw back a bedtime glass of wine.
